Ancestral Puebloan dwelling

Having inhabited the Four Corners region of the American Southwest several times over the span of about 400 years, Ancestral Puebloan peoples left behind several structures tucked into sandstone alcoves and cliff faces, like this dwelling, which is quite extensive: what you are looking at here is the foyer, which is a rare architectural feature in ruins from this part of southeastern Utah.
