Joshua trees and Mojave yuccas are backlit as the sun peaks through clouds; snow is driven across the landscape

Snow in the Mojave Desert is a rare occurrence, but when it does happen it’s magical. The sun peaks through the clouds as a winter storm clears, illuminating Joshua trees and Mojave yuccas. Blowing snowflakes are illuminated by the sun, creating a jeweled appearance in the sky.
